Mepilex Ag is an antimicrobial foam dressing with soft silicone that absorbs wound secretions and maintains a moist wound environment. Mepilex Ag inactivates pathogenic microorganisms within 30 minutes with sustained effect for up to 7 days. By reducing the amount of microorganisms, Mepilex Ag can also reduce the odor.
Mepilex Ag can be used on various types of low to moderately hydrating wounds such as leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers and partial skin burns. Mepilex Ag can also be used during compression.
If the bacterial content of a wound is too high, it needs to be reduced so as not to delay wound healing. Mepilex Ag is recommended to quickly reduce the bacterial content. Use Mepilex Ag for wounds that do not heal normally and show increased signs of bacterial exposure.
